Pink Shoes Preview {Re-Shoot Needed & A Full Confession}

I’m just going to say it, and own it. Those of you that know me know that I am absolutely neurotic about certain things and am very much a perfectionist about most everything. To say that I am both of those things when it comes to blogging would be putting it mildly. I like to take my pictures in a very specific way, with certain lighting, with a very specific type of focus. I want to have them turn out just so. I know exactly what I want, way before I see the finished product, etc. {And mind you, I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.} 

That said, I was so incredibly excited to show you the pictures that I took this weekend at the Proximity Hotel… The outfit was adorable, the setting was stunning, they were going to be perfect.

And then I looked at them on my computer. 

And… I realized that I looked like a wet poodle. You see, what most of you don’t know is that the beautiful mane you most often see on my blog is an art that I have mastered. This tamed hot mess is transformed based on a practiced technique, very strong styling products and dry weather conditions. What you see here is that the rain blew my cover. The end result? Wet down roots that end up looking greasy and a frizzy, crazy everything else. The truth is out. 


{“Oh this doesn’t look so bad.” You say. Yeah, well this is the best out of all of them, so just think about that.}

Long story short. This perfectionist is not satisfied and fully intends on re-shooting this look as soon as the weather permits. These shoes were just too good to keep from you though. 

So that’s my testament of love to you, my dear readers. For you, I will expose my beauty horrors and frizzy chaos, for the sheer purpose of sharing my favorite new shoes. True love.

  4. I like your authenticity here! I don't think there is anything wrong with being a perfectionist but I do think you look gorgeous nonetheless. You're right, the pink shoes are stunning!

  6. It's nice to know other bloggers are just as perfectionist and want their photos in an exact way, I'm just like that and I also hate taking photos. I instantly get stressed and anxious which clearly comes across in the photographs. It's something I'm trying to work on.

  7. Oh girl, I totally know how this goes! My camera is terrible and if the lightening isn't just so, I can always count on not so great photos. Unfortunately, because I KNOW it's the camera and haven't figured out which one I'm going to buy yet (hopefully this summer), I have learned to deal with the not so stellar photos. I think you look absolutely stunning in this photo and I can't wait to see more of this look! It's SO cute!!!

    Love that top!! And you look great but I understand being particular about your photos! It's so frustrating to know exactly how you want it to turn out and then check your computer and one detail is off. But you look lovely!!

  15. I'm the same way when it comes to my photos so I can totally relate. I did a shoot a few weeks ago and I'm not loving the photos so I'm reluctant to event share them! You look awesome though and I love your top!
