Holiday Weekending

I shot my first make up video on Friday afternoon!!! I’m so excited about it! Bear with me, though, it may take a while to edit so be sure to check back.  

Nails at Paint Bar
Friday evening, Meghan, her friend Clark and I went and got our nails done at Paint Bar Raleigh. Let me tell you… That place is amazing!! If you haven’t checked it you need to… ASAP!! They are so sweet and the interior is so spa-like and modern. They have the perfect options for Christmas gifts – gift cards, candles, nail polish! {I’m swooning just thinking about it.}

Christmas Party Time
Friday night, my best friend came into town and she, Sharon, Savannah and I all went to a Christmas party together! It was like being back in college again. It was wonderful haha.

 

Benelux Coffee Brunch
Saturday morning, Aubrey and I went and got brunch at Benelux Coffee. Benelux was one of the first coffee shops I discovered after moving back to Raleigh post college and it has the coolest vibe! I got quiche and fresh fruit and Aubrey got one of their signature waffles. 

Governor’s Mansion Open House
After brunch, we headed to the Governors Executive House. I’ve always wanted to tour it, but they normally only open it for group tours and last year I missed the public’s open house by one day! Need less to say, I was super hyped that we were finally going to get a peak at it! They had it decked out for the holidays and even had characters singing. It was beautiful!

Mordecai House & Park Tour
The Governor’s mansion tour was wonderful, but very short. So afterword we decided to continue the trend and head to the Mordecai Historical House and Park… And guess what. They too were having an open house! Double win!! They had a guided tour with spokespeople in every room, a chef in the old timey kitchen and more. 

Joel Lane House Tour
We felt like we were kind of on a roll with all of the tours and we both nerd out over stuff like that, so after the Mordecai we headed to the Joel Lane House, another historic Raleigh site.

Need less to say, we were thoroughly exhausted after all of it, but it was so fun! Call us grandmas, but it was the perfect winter day. (Well, call it winter, but it might as well be Christmas in July with this weather.)
