Materials:
1 bunch of Delphiniums in Blue
1 bunch of Spray Roses in Cream
1 small bunch of Ranunculus in White
1 stem of a Hydrangea in Blue
1 bunch of Ruscus
Step 1: Lay out all of your flowers by type, color, etc. Keep them separated, organized and if needed, also sorted by size.
Step 2: Start by placing your greenery in the desired place. This will form the base of your arrangement. (I literally put my where I thought it would look good, dropped it, and let it naturally fall into place. I then used that look as a reference when placing the stems in the foam.)
Step 3: Put a couple of different flower types in clumps near the base of this greenery.
Step 4: Continue to build off of this by clumping various flower types around the vase. Hint – make sure the group is big enough for the color to be noticeable. See how I did this for the white ranunculus? (Yes, I ended up trading out the hydrangea for the other flowers. My fridge was too cold and froze my hydrangea, so it turned brown.)
Step 5: Continue to fill in the arrangement with greenery and other flower clumps. Just do what feels right. Don’t be afraid to add greenery! I know a lot of people think that bouquets need to be all flowers flowers, but leafy stems make it look more natural and are easy fillers.
Step 6: Balance the arrangement by adding vertical aspects and re-introducing colors to the bouquet. Example, above there is a clump of blue flowers on the bottom left of the bouquet and it is balanced by tall delphiniums on the top right.
Don’t let your extra materials go to waste! Make a smaller arrangement out of the remnants.
I had enough remnants to make this little guy! What do you guys think? Are these some blog-worthy arrangements?
